Lilith M Год назад I soak all my wools when I purchase them in half a container of downy to 2 gallons of water overnight ..rinse n it keeps them super soft...hand wash only in woolite after wear n use fabric softener like normal ..n if they're still itchy, just repeat soaking process till they're at your desired texture..I've had same wool socks n sweaters for 10 years n they're super soft..my best friends love to borrow them..

  • Rachel Leggett - Arbor Twist
Rachel Leggett - Arbor Twist Год назад I knit a lot of wool sweaters and you can really accomplish the same thing in one step: a conditioner bath. I fill my bathroom sink with cold water and a long squirt of conditioner, which I swirl around. Put my sweater into the "bath," pushing it down so it is submerged, then let it sit 10-20 minutes so all the fibers get saturated. Take out the sweater, drain the sink, refill the sink with just cold water, and submerge the sweater again to rinse it, just for a minute or so. Take it out, squeeze out what water I can with my hands, roll it in a towel and stomp on it to get even more water out, then let it dry flat.
  • Chronically Curious
Chronically Curious Год назад I've gotten a few sweaters before that didn't seem uncomfortable for the brief time I tried them on, that later itches like crazy during wearing for the day. Especially if it's a pricey piece, like the only thing you have of it's kind that you want to use versatilely (especially if you have a capsule wardrobe and have few but really well made pieces), you don't want to just give it up as too uncomfortable. I also got a sweater from my grandmother that I'd like to wear to kind of remember her by, but it's just too itchy. So in a few instances I see this being helpful. If it's just a random sweater that's not particularly expensive, with a peerless fit, or meaningful, I probably wouldn't do it either. 😅 But in the cases of the exceptions, the hack is really helpful; I've not run into this idea on any other channel! Good luck during the long winter!

  • Silver Auditore
Silver Auditore Год назад Zoé Clos I get that too and I live in Greece so what's my excuse???? To be honest though, the cold weather just makes your body weak enough to succumb to viruses and germs that you have already received in the system. For example, sometimes i take a bus for 45 mins and almost every other person in that particular line is dirty (it's the hard truth, I don't want to sound disrespectful but they are). So I stay in there for 45 mins, I get all the bacteria in the world and then I go out without a scarf on a cold evening and that's it for me, I come down with the flu.

  • Sara Jumonville
Sara Jumonville Год назад mandy98 I wear my shoes up to one size bigger because mine are too small.
  • mandy98
mandy98 Год назад (изменено) @Ariana Potorski I understand you! When I was 11, I was 4'10'', had a shoe size of 7... and all my classmates, who were already 13 and at least 5 ft, mocked me for having "big feet" and being "so short". I didn't fit in cute chidren shoes anymore, and adult shoes were innapropiate according to my mom, all I wore were ugly flip flops and tennis shoes... Well, time passed and my feet grew before I increased my height, I used to wear shoes a size smaller just to not look as a "clown". But I was a late bloomer, ended up growing to 5'4.5'' at 18 and to have a size 8-8.5 shoe. Meanwhile, those mean girls never grew anymore.

eizhowa Год назад +Guiliana Barbagallo Fair point. I have never worn shirts open (it is not really a thing where I live), so I did not think of that. I do however regularly sew up the shirts I wear for work :) The gap is not very professional...
  • Giuliana B
Giuliana B Год назад eizhowa But by sewing that space you can only wear the flannel closed. Say you want to wear it both buttoned up and open, sewing is no longer an option. Needless to say, if you know you're only going to wear it closed and you're not afraid you're going to mess up then sew it.
  • eizhowa
eizhowa Год назад Say it takes 1 minute to find the tape, apply the tape and throw the other bits out per time. Everytime you wash the shirt, you need to re-do it. It takes 10 minutes to sew it up between two buttons. You don't need to wash it many times before you are saving times. Not to mention, threads are more hard-wearing...
