EvilKris 2 года назад best way to enjoy a beautiful garden is.... don't hire anyone. DIY the lot. Make a ton of mistakes, waste a lot of money, break a ton of tools, do your back in, get frustrated, scrounge and scavenge materials, learn all the tricks, cementing, stonemasonry, start knowing every flower by sight, FINALLY start seeing the fruits of your labour, and THEN- many years later you can enjoy, and truly enjoy, your beautiful garden, and when surveying the masterpiece you made with blood, sweat and tears, you will thank the heavens you had the good sense to do it all by yourself and look back on how fun it actually was.

  • neverlostforwords
neverlostforwords Год назад The biggest tip is to love your garden and spend time with it every day. If you don't love a garden and spend time with it, caring for it, there is no point in gardening at all. As for sustainable gardens, that doesn't mean you visit your garden every three months to see what's happening. You still should be making a daily visit to enjoy your garden and see what you can do to improve and enhance it.
  • neverlostforwords
neverlostforwords Год назад (изменено) Mr Disgruntled: Buy a raised garden bed kit (timber or galvanised steel) from hardware store or garden centre. Fill the bottom half of the assembled raised garden bed with twigs and branches from trees and shrubs in your yard, the next quarter of the bed with pea straw, the next quarter with a blend of free garden soil from a spare spot in the yard and your own free compost (made from a diverse range of free waste from garden (grass, shredded leaves, twigs) and free kitchen waste vegetable peelings), then plant free seeds in the soil/compost layer, then mulch around seedlings which emerge with pea straw. Cost: Garden bed kit: up to $100 plus one bag of pea straw: $12
